"MOM! I want my own Fight Club!"
Police are investigating claims parents have organised after-school fights between Northland teenagers to settle playground disputes.The latest claim comes after a spike in the number of brawls at secondary schools in Whangarei.
That has been partly driven by a trend to capture the "best fight" on cellphone video and post it on the internet.
In the last month police have been notified of two fights organised by parents and caregivers of girls aged 13 and 14 in the Whangarei area as a way of sorting out differences.

Chicken crackdown in Newburgh!
Joyce Kyles knocks on the door of the house, and a woman answers."Good morning, hi," says Kyles, of Newburgh Animal Control. "We hear you have chickens."
The woman denies it but grants permission for a search of her backyard. Kyles is joined on this mission by Melissa Veraldo of Blooming Grove Humane Society and Deputy Gina Sangricoli, an animal cruelty investigator for the Orange County Sheriff's Office. Together, the three have begun a route across Newburgh in search of chickens. It's against city law to keep chickens, and the women have a list of a dozen addresses where they suspect people are harboring illegal birds.

Diego Maradona needs a lot of salad and bidets for his World Cup team
Argentina manager Diego Maradona asked the authorities to install two new bidet toilets for him at the team's 2010 World Cup training base in South Africa.The people in charge were then asked to carry out an emergency remodelling of the legendary forward's bathroom to make the necessary changes to meet his "high standards".
The manager of the High Performance Centre in Pretoria, Colin Stier, maintained that the request from Maradona had culminated in two whole bathrooms being changed.

George Lopez and his wife's kidney are cheating
The National Enquirer is reporting that comedian George Lopez has joined the cheaters' club.The rag says that the late-night host, 49, has been engaging in affairs with paid escorts. One of them, a Tampa Bay woman only identified as Tiffany, said she has the texts to prove it.
This is irony. He is one of Sandra Bullock's best friends.
More irony: His wife Ann Serrano gave him a kidney in 2005.
