A-Rod hits 600 and gets his ball back

There was no mad scramble for Alex Rodriguez's history-making home run ball Wednesday at the Stadium. There was only security guard Frankie Babilonia. The 23-year-old from the lower East Side calmly picked the ball off the netting over Monument Park and gave it to security supervisor Fidel Gonzales, who in turn handed it to Mark Kapalas and Eddie Fastook, executive directors of team security, who turned it over to clubhouse manager Rob Cuccuzza, who presented it to a Major League Baseball authenticator. He put a hologram foil on the ball to mark it out as the authentic MLB 600 ball.

A-Rod ended up with it and he gave Babilonia an autographed bat commemorating the occasion.

Had the guard kept the ball, he might have come up with considerably more. In January, the ball a fan caught for A-Rod's 500th homer was auctioned for $103,579.

Bein' a young lady these days ain't cheap

The Ivy League daughter of former Mayor Rudy Giuliani was busted Wednesday for shoplifting at an upper East Side beauty store, cops said.

Harvard senior Caroline Giuliani was caught at about 3:30 p.m stealing $150 worth of cosmetics from Sephora on E. 86th St. and Lexington Ave., sources said.

"She was caught red-handed. She knew it, and didn't act out," a police source said.

The 20-year-old daughter of New York's toughest-talking law-and-order mayor was arrested for misdemeanor petty larceny and hauled out of the store in handcuffs.

She was taken to the 19th Precinct stationhouse and issued a desk appearance ticket that requires her to return to court on Aug. 31.

Maybe the only 12 year old girl that could be called a "badass"

A hapless burglar came off second-best after he was caught red-handed by a home-alone 12-year-old girl - who promptly kicked him in the groin.

Brave Georgia Bulis-Gray went to investigate after she heard a door slam in her parents' kitchen and found herself confronting a hooded intruder.

The schoolgirl, who said she didn’t want the smirking man to think she was helpless, kicked him hard, forcing him to flee in agony from the house in Bosham, West Sussex.

Georgia then called the police and even had the presence of mind to do a quick sketch of the man she had just seen.

Jesse James is the dumbest person in the world

Sandra Bullock has seen off competition from Reese Witherspoon and Cameron Diaz to top Forbes magazine's best-paid actress list.

The Miss Congeniality star's career is at an all-time high despite her personal woes - she's landed at number one as the highest-earning actress over the last year, taking in $56 million between June 2009 and June 2010. Forbes editors looked at income from film roles in addition to money that stars might have earned from perfume deals, clothing lines and ad campaigns.

Bullock's home life was rocked earlier this year, when news of her ex-husband Jesse James' alleged affairs hit headlines. The ex-couple's divorce was finalized in June, shortly after Bullock revealed she and James had adopted a baby boy.

How ungrateful is this guy? No complaints about the food, though!

Police say a man who robbed a fast-food restaurant with a gun was so mad about the amount of loot that he called back twice to complain.

The man walked up to the drive-through window of an Atlanta Wendy's late Saturday night, wearing a ski mask and holding a gun.

He demanded the cash drawer, grabbed it and ran away.

But police say he later called the fast food restaurant to complain about the amount of cash.

Police say in one call he said that "next time there better be more than $586."

He called again with a similar complaint.

Philly Puker is Goin' to the Pokey

A few too many drinks led to some bad decisions, and ultimately, jail time for Matthew Clemmens.

The 21-year-old New Jersey native was sentenced to three months in jail after intentionally vomiting on a police officer and his daughters at a Philadelphia Phillies game.

In Philadelphia Family Court, both Clemmens and his father apologized for his actions. Although Judge Kevin Dougherty believed the father's apology, he felt Matthew's mea culpa was insincere, The Associated Press reported.

Clemmens' family explained to the judge that he was a good person who had a lapse in judgment

In addition to the jail time, Clemmens also got two years of probation and 50 hours of community service.
