What's the opposite of an endorsement?

A clothing company is offering money to Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and his fellow "Jersey Shore" cast members — so they'll stop wearing the brand on the show.

Abercrombie & Fitch says in a news release posted Tuesday that it's concerned that having Sorrentino seen in its clothing could cause "significant damage" to the company's image.

Abercrombie says a connection to The Situation goes against the "aspirational nature" of its brand and may be "distressing" to customers. The Ohio-based retailer says it has offered a "substantial payment" to Sorrentino and producers of the MTV cable television show so he'll wear something else.

Hollywood sure loves their remakes

CBS has ordered a script from Sony Pictures Television for a remake of the classic laffer "Bewitched."

Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher, the married couple behind the 2005 film version, are onboard to exec produce through their Red Wagon shingle. Marc Lawrence ("Did You Hear About the Morgans?"), who will write the script, is also an exec producer.

"Bewitched" had an eight-season run on ABC starting in 1964.

It's no surprise that CBS would gravitate to a project with a pre-sold brand like "Bewitched," having scored one of the few hits of the 2010-11 season with "Hawaii Five-0," another TV reboot. Sony also is behind another remake getting buzz heading into the coming season, "Charlie's Angels," on ABC.

Hope Solo to pose nude?

Hope Solo, the naked netminder? Judging by her Twitter feed, she will appear in the next “body issue” of ESPN The Magazine, an annual nude celebation of the athletic physique.

Solo has been busy since the Women’s World Cup ended, telling Jordan Schultz of the Huffington Post: “I flew to LA when most people went home, and I did the media circuit there. I think that's our responsibility; I need to keep the awareness of the game out there, but I also need to thank our fans.”
