Mandatory school lunches?

A Chicago public school is banning homemade lunches according to the Chicago Tribune.

Homemade lunches need to stay at home. School lunch is going to be mandatory at Chicago’s Little Village Academy public k-8 school.

The reasoning behind the movement is that with the new lunch program the school is guaranteed to provide healthy meals without running the risk of children bringing sugary treats and salty chips from home. The complete overhaul was brought about by many schools across the nation being put under heat for not providing healthy lunches for their students.
