Facebook wedding photos set in motion an investigation leading to the arrest of a Michigan bigamist.Richard Leon Barton Jr. apparently defriended his first wife but never divorced her before marrying another woman this past July. But his first wife ultimately discovered wedding photos that Barton’s new spouse uploaded to Facebook.
Muskegon District Court arraigned Barton today and charged him with polygamy, which has a maximum penalty of four years in the state of Michigan. However, he could receive a heavier sentence because he has a criminal record.
