City police say a man who was stopped after being seen running naked through the streets, and who fought violently with officers who tried to subdue him, was under the influence of PCP and is being held at a hospital for medical treatment.
City police were dispatched to Prospect Street and Broadway at 11:36 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a man who was running while wearing nothing but sneakers.
When they arrived, police said, they saw cars swerving to avoid a tall, naked black man running eastbound in the left lane of westbound traffic. Police got out of their cars and ordered the man to the ground.
